The Internet offers many opportunities for all of us to follow the “cool” and often bizarre actions of other countries around the world. This latest news headline out of Canada is no exception. I remember when I first became a licensed driver… oh, the headache and frustration of being the oldest child! Not only were my parents concerned about their insurance rates, they were also concerned about my daily driving habits. And just like every other newly licensed driver, I believed it was my duty to chauffeur everyone in my family needing to travel down the street or across town.
One such instance occurred on a rainy Saturday morning. The rain was really a torrential downpour. Visibility was down to a quarter of a mile, and traffic was moving at a geriatric pace. I woke up early to drive my mother to the local mall, because all of the sudden when you’re sixteen, being kind and considerate is the only way to get the keys to hang with friends at a local theater on a Saturday night. As I pulled into the parking lot, my mother cautioned there were speed bumps along the west side of the building. It was raining… I didn’t know where the sun was! Not desiring to ask for clarification, I continued to accelerate until “WAM!” I’d hit the largest speed bump in town at 30 miles an hour! I began to argue my case, “…the sun isn’t shining, I don’t know where east and west are! I couldn’t see!” All of course, to no avail. Needless to say, I was not a part of the fun at the theater later that evening…
Imagine what the outcome would have been if instead, we’d had “Pavement Patty”?

We’ve all watched EXTREME MAKEOVER: Home Edition at least once. If you’re like me, the stories of each family are woven in such a way that an emotional connection is instantly developed between me and the 32” HDTV sitting four feet from my nose. Most recently it would seem, the Home Edition staff has selected families who are battling moderate to severe mold in their homes. Since then, my thoughts have drifted to the prevalence of mold. I wondered until yesterday, how often do homeowners battle the disgraceful creature?

Within the last two weeks, clients of Capstone Insurors were enjoying a well-deserved vacation, away from the distractions and interruptions of life. Upon their arrival home, they discovered MAJOR water damage to their kitchen, main floor bath, living room and the list goes on and on…

AMAZON ROCKS!!
If you haven’t discovered the joy of shopping online for great deals, no tax, and free shipping; then, you probably aren’t reading this article. Blogs are probably off your radar screen! Online shopping is the deal getters paradise. Therefore, those of you who do online shopping understand the joy of having a heavily discounted item dropped off at your doorstep in a few days.
I would now like to discuss an ingenious concept implemented by Amazon.com. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon.com because their prices are generally lower than Wal-Mart’s and other retailers. In addition, shipping is generally free for orders over $25 and no tax is charged. In addition, because I am a college student, I get a year of Amazon Prime (2-Day Shipping) for free. It’s hard not to get excited about deals when you are offered these kinds of discounts.
